Crunch Time – Michelle Bridges

Wow, Michelle, or Mish as she’s affectionately known, is tough. She is also very inspiring. While we see her as if she’s always in shape, there’s a lot of work that goes into it. She is not always sitting around doing nothing. Regular training, always being aware of what you eat and a healthy mental attitude contribute.

I feel like the way Australians view the lifestyle has changed drastically since we were young. I recently told my daughter that in the 1980s no man wore a shirt to the beach and sometimes to the shops. She was upset, however, there were very few overweight people back then.

We all got up early and did our homework. All the children played outside and possibly only watched one show a day. Our school days included physical exercise to which all the children joined. After school we played outside cycling or running but always on the move. Weekends were adventures and a large group would go out and do something. We only ate because our parents called us to refuel before we did it again.

Fast-forward to the 2010s and not just the kids, but the adults graze all day and never leave the house. As a nation, we are getting bigger and less active. We will die younger than ever due to our lifestyle, which is totally our fault.

Michelle teaches us with her no-nonsense approach that we must take responsibility. Everything from calorie counting to exercise programs is stripped down to allow even beginners to pick up the book and just get started. As a community, we must start anew, as our parents will outlive an entire generation if we do not act.

I love watching weight loss programs as they are so inspiring. If someone is 50 kilograms overweight they can find the motivation, so can I. This is where Crunch Time comes in.

We are taught to look at where we came from, why we have gained weight and what we need to change. Fixing underlying problems means that our mental renewal gives us the strength to move forward. I love the food, workout diaries, and case studies to keep it all real.

There are also some examples of food and exercise mistakes we all make thinking we’re making healthy choices, when sometimes we’re making it worse.

Michelle aims to help all of us lose a lot of weight as quickly as possible to get a fresh start. Through the twelve week program that anyone can follow so we can all achieve intense and dramatic results if we really want to. I’m lovin ‘it.
