Kitchen Cabinet Organizers – More Space, Find Things Faster

When you’re looking for something in one of your kitchen cabinets, do you have to move everything around to get what you’re looking for? If that’s the case, or if you just need more storage space, you should put some kitchen cabinet organizers to good use.

Here are some examples of what to look out for:

For your cabinet under the sink
So, let’s start with your cabinet under the sink. Get some two or three tier lengthwise shelves set up in a staggered fashion with the tallest items on the top shelf and working down to the bottom shelf. These shelves typically fit well under a standard sink space and require no installation, just placement. Using these shelves allows you to see your cleaning products, etc. quite clearly without having to search for them.

Another option for this area is a two-tier shelf that can be attached to the inside of your cabinet door. A few simple screws and you’ve opened up the space under the kitchen cabinets even more, transferring dishwashing liquids etc. to the bottom tier and perhaps sponges to the smaller top shelf.

Again, there are several options available to you. First of all, putting up wire shelves is simple and all you need is a power screwdriver or small drill. The racks come with a track on which the shelf can be unfolded for a better view of its contents. However, these would take up the width of your cabinet.

You should put similar items on the same shelf for easy access. Another possibility is the smaller stationary shelves commonly seen in closets or garages. These can be installed in a staggered fashion, again without the need for professional installation.

There are also several sizes of pull-out shelves or revolving shelves available to fit most kitchen cabinets. These can be free standing or require simple screw fixing.

How about a hanging utensil rack?
I think this is a great way to keep all your utensils close at hand while giving your kitchen a new look. They are available in smaller sizes, suitable for placement under wall cabinets, or larger, for placement higher up, such as above your food preparation counter.

To fit a single shelf under the cabinet space, you just need a small drill to go through the cabinet above.

For a larger kitchen, a larger rounded shelf type would be necessary and depending on your DIY skills and confidence, this may need to be installed by someone qualified to ensure your safety. This is the overhead hanging utensil holder, as is often seen in restaurant kitchens.

What about Drawer Organizers?
Various dividers or cutlery holders can be used in your kitchen drawers. These can keep your cutlery or utensils separate in related sets. Dividers for this spell can be purchased at any kitchen supply store and are relatively inexpensive.

So no more excuses: give yourself more space, make it easier to find what you’re looking for, and maybe add some style at the same time, with some kitchen cabinet organizers…
