The 9 Best Essential Oils I Use for Anxiety

Anxiety of varying degrees has been something that I have had to deal with most of my life. In this age there are more factors that contribute to anxiety, especially in very sensitive people. Technology is a huge contributor to the stresses of modern life.

One thing I’ve turned to is essential oils. I use DoTerra oils because I have found them to be of high quality, especially since I use some of them internally. I have studied Essential Oils with Dr. Josh Ax and am confident in his knowledge of how to use the oils.

The use of essential oils should not replace medical and psychiatric care. Then consult your doctor.

I diffuse essential oils (I put a few drops in water in a diffuser and send it into the air in a fine mist) and use them on my skin. My skin is not that sensitive so I can use them neatly. But when in doubt, do a patch test or use fractionated coconut oil as a base oil and add a drop to test its strength.

Here are my essential oils:

Lavender

My first oil of choice to soothe and calm is always Lavender First. Especially at night. I wear it on the soles of my feet, around my temples and neck. I will also spread it. Lavender is so mild that it can be used on children. I also put some on my pillow.

Peace mix

The second oil I use is the Peace blend. It is made up of vetiver root, lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense, sage, marjoram, labdanum, and spearmint. It comes in a rooler ball with fractionated coconut oil already in it and smeared around my chest, neck, and wrists.

Pink

The Doterra rose comes in a rollerball bottle, so it has fractionated coconut oil. Rose is such an expensive oil that diluting it in a rolling pin is an affordable way to access it. I don’t diffuse anything in a rollerball bottle.

Balance mix

Every morning and during the day, I use Balance on the soles of my feet. I also put it around my neck. It is a mixture of earth. It is composed of fir, ho wood, frankincense, blue tansy, blue chamomile.

Incense

I take a drop of incense under my tongue every day. It is considered the King of Oils. It crosses the blood-brain barrier. It is good for calming the nerves. From time to time I also spread it.

Peace Serenity / Lavender Blend

This oil has a lovely soothing scent. It is ideal for massages. I wear it around my neck or I just smell the bottle. You can also drop a few drops in the palm of your hand, rub your hands, place them on your nose, and smell. By the way, smelling therapeutic oils is not just a lovely scent, the drops travel to the brain’s emotion center. The nose is the fastest way to access this part of the brain. This oil is made up of Lavender, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Absolute Vanilla.

Clary Calm Mix

I use it when I feel hormonal. It is composed of Clary Sage, Lavender, Bergamot, Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Fennel Seed, Carrot Seed, Palmarosa, Vitex Leaf / Berry.

Vetiver

I use this in the bathroom. It is quite a thick oil and I have to take out the dropper and pour in a small amount.

Roman chamomile

I don’t use it that much anymore, but I did. I used to pour the 5ml bottle into a ball bottle and cover with fractionated coconut oil and rub the soles of my feet at night before going to bed.

Some other oils you can use for anxiety, but I don’t as I tend to stick with the ones I use more frequently are: copaiba oil, ylang ylang, lemon balm, juniper berry, bergamot, past tense.

There are many more oils that you can use, but these are the most common oils.
