Showers, screens and the home

By definition, there are two main types of home showers: the walk-in shower and the tub/shower combination. As its name implies, the first is a shower cabin. Shower enclosures enclose shower enclosures for privacy and to prevent water from splashing or splashing outside the enclosure. The locker room shower is a variant made up of several shower cabins in a large shower area. The tub/shower combo, on the other hand, is found in most homes, offering both the convenience of a quick shower and the luxury of a long, warm bath.

Other types of showers emerged depending on how they are used. Currently, nine known types are used by various users for specific purposes.

1) The air shower is one that has nothing to do with personal hygiene or water. It uses high pressure air to expel dust and other potential contaminants from the personal “clean room” environment.

2) The electric shower does not cast electricity, but electrically heated hot water is preferred in places where gas heating (in water boilers) is expensive.

3) A field shower is the type used, as a general rule, by the military for hygiene or decontamination purposes when personnel are exposed to hazardous or toxic materials.

4) Marina showers are not necessarily exclusive to marina use. It is a controlled method of taking a shower where the water is stopped midway for the bather to lather up and rinse off in the next minute when the water is available again.

5) Power shower simply means higher water pressure from an electric pump.

6) A steam shower is actually a steam bath in a cabin with shower screens. It is a cosmetic/health bath and is sometimes enjoyed with other people in a large spa.

7) A Vichy shower is not really a shower. It is a shallow bed (with a drain) where a spa client lies while large amounts of hot water are poured on them.

8) Roman shower is a misnomer. It does not mean that you have to be Roman to enjoy them nor does it describe a Roman bath. They are shower enclosures without the benefit of even cheap shower screens. Some hotels have this type to facilitate access for disabled people. Hence the nickname “walk-in shower”.

9) An emergency shower is one provided primarily by laboratories as a counteracting or corrective measure in cases of accidental burns, explosions, or contamination. Located close to its potential users, it is designed to run continuously in a torrent for at least 15 minutes, gushing out between 30 and 60 gallons of water per minute.

Home showers come in at least 5 different shower enclosure models, all aesthetically designed to suit any homeowner’s theme orientation: framed, semi-framed, frameless, mirage and enduro shield.
