Las Vegas Hotel Review – MGM Grand

The MGM Grand is one of the most famous and flashy of all the Las Vegas hotels. Everything is built in emerald green. When you’re in Las Vegas, you can’t miss hitting the Strip at the MGM Grand Las Vegas casino resort.

MGM Grand is located on the Las Vegas strip with the Flamingo Road split and also on the way to McCarran International Airport; It’s the first hotel you see. It is located right across from Mandalay Bay and Luxor on one side and Excalibur on the other side of the road. It is in a prime location with restrictions on ground level pedestrian walkways and though there are interlocking bridges to the south and west to neighboring casinos.

It’s a plus for pedestrians that the MGM Grand offers easy access via a monorail that connects the airport and other casinos like the Flamingo and Bally’s.

The MGM Grand is currently owned by MGM Mirage and is a sister concern casino complex to Luxor, Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. The Grand MGM as a casino is the second MGM casino since the first one was devastated during the 80’s in a fire. Although the name of the MGM casino could not stay outside of Las Vegas for long, it was rebuilt as a Bally’s Casino resort in 1986.

During the 90’s period, MGM Grand was a bit more of a family oriented place. It was opened in 1993 making use of the old Marina complex and at the time the casino had a very different Wizard of Oz theme. To attract more families, an amusement park was built on a theme. But today, the crowd appeal has gone down in history only because casinos are more youth-oriented, as a result, MGM is more of a Hollywood theme.

In the latest competition, the MGM Grand survives to be the second largest hotel in the world today. And as a resort, it is next in size when only the Venetian casino ranks first. The hotel in its size itself includes five thousand and forty four rooms to choose from, including just over seven hundred and fifty suites. And also in the lower end price range, MGM Grand Rooms are typically available for around $100 per night, proving that MGM has everything to satisfy most requirements. But prices are very competitive as crowds increase during the festive season. But the biggest change in prices can only be felt in the cost of the luxurious rooms and villas.

For restaurants and cuisines, The MGM Grand is home to a selection of sixteen different restaurants and two food courts featuring some of the world’s most exotic cuisines. There’s something for everyone with some of the hotel’s notable restaurants including Craftsteak, a Tom Colicchio restaurant, and Shibuya, a must-see for fans of Japanese cuisine. Those on a tight budget can enjoy good quality food at the buffets and casual dining available.

As mentioned above, the MGM Grand hotel has undergone renovations to ensure that it also meets the needs of young and old. This renovation has seen the construction of Studio 54 Las Vegas, a copy of the famous New York nightclub. In addition, the hotel complex is also the permanent home of Cirque du Soleil’s KA production, as well as the Crazy Horse Paris adult nude magazine. The Hollywood theater also allows for more refined entertainment, although it caters to a more or less adult clientele and is a debatable issue since it was the first venue for “Jerry Springer the Opera.”

The MGM Grand is perhaps best known for its lion habitat which sees multiple lions on display throughout the day. The tunnels allow visitors to get close to the animals without presenting any risk.

The MGM Grand is also home to several outdoor pools and waterfalls, as well as numerous stores where you can buy just about anything. Many sports fans are also drawn to the MGM Grand, and the Garden Arena has already hosted some of the best sporting events, including boxing matches and wrestling events.

Las Vegas is all about gambling, of course, so it’s quite usual for guests at the MGM grand to be well catered for for their gambling demands. The MGM casino is the largest to be found on the Strip, occupying some 171,500 square feet of space. The casino floor is filled with a good mix of table games, slots, and sports betting. The table games in particular have something for everyone with craps, baccarat, poker, blackjack and many other games on offer for those looking to gamble.

The MGM Grand by name is simply a great place to visit. If you’ve planned a trip to Las Vegas, consider the MGM Grand hotel your first priority for your comfort and convenience.

The MGM Grand treats you to a huge MGM lion statue, but to experience the real ones you just have to walk inside. The lion habitat is one of the popular attractions that MGM grand has. It gives a feeling of adventure as you roam around your enclosure with only 1/2 inch of glass in between. However, this attraction is free and you can also feed the lions twice a day.

Projection room

Among the other attractions is the CBS movie screening room where you can watch new CBS shows, after which you are asked for your opinion. If you’re a TV fan, you’ll love this attraction and, again, it’s all free.

Other amenities

The other attraction areas include a wonderful pool area surrounded by waterfalls and palm trees. The arcades, the shops, the food court, everything else is part of the complex.

For music fans, the MGM Grand attracts some of today’s biggest living artists. Sometimes you can see Tom Jones and BeyoncĂ© Knowles shaking the sand.
