How to Use 3-Way Calling for Quick Network Marketing Success

The key to network marketing success is being able to convert your network marketing contacts into active members of your MLM downline. This can be a challenge for many network marketers, especially newcomers who have no sales experience and are hesitant to call their prospects because:

  • they don’t know what to say
  • have not yet experienced any real success
  • they don’t know the right questions to ask and the “buzzwords” to use

A great way to solve this problem is to have your sponsor or an experienced member of your upline call their leads with you using 3-way calling. Not only will this help you quickly build your MLM network marketing business, it will also give you an opportunity to learn professional selling techniques.

How to set up a 3-way call:

  • press “flash” or “talk” or “power” button
  • wait for the dial tone and then call the third party
  • then press “flash” or “talk” again to bring back the first person
  • to end the call with the third person, press “flash” again

It’s a good idea to contact your phone company to make sure you have this service enabled.

How to make a 3-way call with your sponsor: Let’s say you have a prospect on the phone and the person seems very interested in your network marketing opportunity after reviewing some information, perhaps a website or a recorded call. Simply ask the prospect to wait a few seconds, press “flash” and call their sponsor or upline professional. Don’t worry about putting the prospect on hold for a moment or two, people are used to this and don’t really care.

Here is a very important point: do not immediately press “flash” again. This gives you the opportunity to give your sponsor a brief summary of the situation, such as:

  • who is your prospect
  • the level of interest of prospects
  • what information you have shared with your prospect
  • ask your upline if they can make the call

If your upline agrees to do the 3-way call, press “flash” again and bring them on the call. Note: Your prospect doesn’t know they’re bringing their sponsor to the call and it doesn’t matter. Never ask permission to make a 3-way call. You are in control of the call and it is your decision. When you’ve brought your sponsor on the call, say this to your prospect: “Prospect, are you back with me? Great! Listen. I was able to hire a business associate of mine who is incredibly successful in the network marketing industry. This is someone you will also be working with. He/she is one of the highest earners and trainer in our company and one of the most respected people in the entire industry.”

Then introduce them. Another important point: Now that you’ve done the intro, SHUT UP! Don’t say a word! Let your upline handle the call from here. After all, you have introduced them as an expert and interrupting them will nullify this.

3-way calling is a fantastic way to leverage the sales skills of your upline MLM business partners. Remember, your upline has a financial interest in your network marketing success, so they should be happy to help you, especially if you’re generating some good quality leads.
