In the world of high school baseball recruiting, there are many myths and misconceptions. Unfortunately, many of these myths and misconceptions keep young baseball players who might have played at some level of college baseball out of the college game.
If you’ve been involved in high school baseball recruiting, you’ve probably heard some of these myths:
1- If you are good enough, college coaches will find you automatically
2- Your coach will help you get recruited
3- If you play in a bad team, the coaches will not recruit you
4- If you play in a small high school, the coaches will not recruit you
The good news is that none of these myths is true. They are simply high school recruiting myths that are passed down from one generation of players to the next. If you’re trying to get to the next level, don’t let these myths get in your way and learn these truths:
1- Many players who could play at the college level are not drafted because the coaches simply do not know
nothing about them
2- Most coaches don’t help their players get recruited because they aren’t sure how to help or because
I just don’t want to get involved
3- You can still be an excellent player, even if you are on a bad team.
4- Being in a small school does not mean that you do not have what it takes to play in university
The best way to win the high school baseball recruiting game is to take responsibility for your own recruiting. You can do this by making direct contact with the trainers. Develop an athletic resume and write a letter to coaches, and your recruiting can begin immediately. Of course, to play in college you need to have the talent and the skills. However, keep in mind that baseball is played from Junior College through Division I.
