Beach Goes Pops celebrates the 100th anniversary of Pass A Grille, Florida

Every year in late April, the City of St. Pete Beach, the Pass-A-Grille Community, and Vina Del Mar Island Associations host “Beach Goes Pops,” a two-day beach event that celebrates the founding of Pass-A-Grille. . This year’s event celebrates Pass-A-Grille’s 100th anniversary, making it a very special occasion for attendees.

This family-friendly event is a hit with locals and draws visitors from all over Tampa Bay and the state of Florida. It kicks off on Friday afternoons at 4:00 pm, beginning with live entertainment. Featured entertainment for Friday includes the Charlie Morris Band, Hip Abduction and The Venturas. The bands will play from 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Bring your blankets and beach chairs and enjoy the beautiful sea breeze as the sun goes down, while enjoying good music. Local restaurant vendors will also be on hand with plenty of food and drink so you won’t go hungry! You can also see “Art in the Park” with tons of local artists selling their work.

Saturday begins at 4:00 pm and features a special four-course dinner by the Wayl of a Time, with tickets that must be purchased in advance. Dinner guests may begin arriving at 5:30. Enjoy the music of Soundwave, Jeff Zavac and then the main attraction: The Beach Goes Pops Orchestra! Also, for the little ones, be sure to check out the children’s activities set up at Pass-A-Grille Park.

This year’s event master of ceremonies and guest of honor will be former Florida Governor Charlie Crist. Restaurants and food vendors include Gennaro’s, The Hurricane, Mrs. B’s Doe Al, Saffron’s Catering, Hot Dogs, Paradise Sweets and more.

The shuttle will be available both days from the County Beach Park located across from the Dolphin Village shopping center from 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm The shuttle is ideal for those staying at a St. Pete hotel Beach or Treasure Island and do not have a vehicle. Even those with a vehicle: Parking is limited at Pass-A-Grille, so if you can’t get there early, take a shuttle.

Those looking to attend the event from out of town can find affordable Treasure Island Beach Condos like the South Beach Condo Hotel and the nearby Surf Beach Resort at rates well below what St. Pete Beach hotels charge. Just make your reservations in advance so you can enjoy an easy, carefree and fun-filled weekend.
