Bad first date signs that are actually good

So you’re on your first date, and it’s going terribly. Or is it really? Turns out it’s just a matter of perspective. The very things that are making your date a flop might actually indicate something much better. Read on for some signs that your ruined date is anything but.

not your type

You’ve seen the photos of your new dates online, but when you meet in person, you realize they’re not your type. If you’re thinking “Next!”, think again. Remember that there are thousands of happy couples who are not for each other. To dismiss someone simply because they don’t meet your visual standards is to cut yourself off from a world of possibilities.

If you don’t think your date is your type, try redefining your “type” in terms of someone’s personality and how they make you feel, rather than how they look. Doing this can greatly expand your dating horizons. As long as you can at least finish the date, you can live in the moment and give love a chance.

nervousness

You’ve started your date and you can’t help but notice your date’s nervousness. Her hands are shaking, her voice is shaking, and they’re sweating profusely. This could make you think that something is seriously wrong with this person and you may not want to date them again.

Extreme nervousness doesn’t have to mean bad things. It could mean that this person really likes you. Give them a second chance and they’ll probably be more relaxed.

Arguing

You and your date are having a normal conversation and getting to know each other, when suddenly you have a conflict of opinion. This starts out as a simple disagreement, but soon turns into a full-blown fight. No matter what you’re arguing about, fighting never feels good on a first date. But arguing on a first date can be a very good sign. Fighting can mean that there is passion between you. The sparks may not fly the way you expect, but they are flying nonetheless.

Arguing usually leads to an interesting conversation, so the next time you’re in a heated argument with a date, accept your differences. Agree to disagree, then move on to things you have in common.

interview

If your date spends the whole night asking you questions trying to learn your life story, it could mean that she is interested in you and trying too hard.

If your date is drilling you, try turning it around and asking a few questions, that way, you won’t seem so one-sided. If you have a second date, try a movie so you don’t have to talk all the time.

miss kiss

If your date doesn’t offer you a goodnight kiss, it doesn’t always mean you don’t like it. A missed kiss can often be a sign of respect, they may be waiting for the perfect moment.

In the absence of a kiss, think about other signs of attraction. If your date makes eye contact and gives you their full attention, chances are they are interested in you. Hang in there and you’ll be kissing in no time!
