Varadero – A Taste of Paradise

Every year when I dream of vacations, I usually visualize myself tanning on a sandy beach with crystal clear waters, relaxing to the mesmerizing sound of the ocean. That’s when Varadero instantly comes to mind, which I call my own little piece of paradise.

When it comes to breathtaking beauty, no other place in the world can compare to Varadero, one of the most wonderful Cuban beaches. Located on the Hicacos Peninsula in the province of Matanzas, with 20 km of beautiful sand, Varadero is a popular tourist attraction on the island. The fabulous combination of fine white sand, clear and transparent waters, unique coral reefs and exciting activities make Varadero a paradise for vacationers.

Whether it’s exciting summer entertainment like sailing, scuba diving or skydiving, Varadero has something amazing to offer. In fact, there are a number of family activities that you and your children may find amazing.

These activities may include swimming, fishing, sunbathing, catamaran excursions, ecotourism, snorkeling, diving, marine jungle tours, and outdoor sports. Likewise, visitors can opt for the trill of swimming with dolphins at the Varadero Aquarium, where the dolphin shows are also one of the main attractions. I think this is a great way to spend the day with the kids!

Apart from lying on the beach, what I like most about Varadero is playing in the amusement parks, such as Parque “Todo en Uno”. While fun is always guaranteed for children, adults can entertain themselves by bowling, playing pool or, for the more adventurous, there is a roller coaster, which I find particularly exhilarating.

There are additional activities that you and your family can enjoy. You can play in the professional golf course of Varadero, take a carriage ride and rent a motorcycle or simply a bicycle so that you can discover the town through your tours. Varadero also has several caves that deserve the attention of all visitors, such as Ambrosio and Bellamar.

Josone is another of the unmissable attractions of Varadero, due to its beautiful parks with exquisite vegetation, different types of birds and a wonderful small lake. It’s just a feast for the eyes, so be sure to bring your camera and take plenty of photos! Thanks to its captivating atmosphere, Josone Park is also an opportunity to spend a romantic time, you can rent a boat to take a ride on the lake, surrounded by ducks. This park also offers a large selection of dining and bar services.

Varadero also offers a lot of action at night. Each hotel has its own cultural activities, musical performances with Cuban or international rhythms.

But if you love the dance floor, the most famous nightclub in Varadero: La Rumba should be included in your itinerary. Due to its great open bar, with a wide variety of drinks, and its incredible music, La Rumba guarantees you an unparalleled evening.
