Parkour Tutorial Sites: Best Sites to Learn Parkour

Before we start

There are several things to keep in mind. One of them is that not all parkour sites are created equal. Some of them have some BS. Parkour is getting popular so people are posting stupid tutorials so you have to be aware of what is good material and what is bad.

But here I will provide you with a list of good parkour tutorial sites, along with how to identify scam sites.

What’s happening

Parkour originated in France and the person responsible for making parkour popular is David Belle. Parkour began to catch on in the United States around 2002, and since then, a large number of people have resorted to it.

You may be walking down the street and see a group of people running past you, jumping on benches, running up and down the walls, and disappearing. And you’re just left thinking “Wow! I want to learn that!”

Identifying legitimate parkour sites

As I said before. There are many scam sites. Many of them are from kids who simply post tutorial videos on YouTube in hopes of getting views and maybe making some money from advertising.

I am not saying that some children do not know what they are talking about. But I’m telling you, you have to be smart about who you listen to.

For example, you will find some videos of ten-year-olds teaching you proper landing and proper swinging technique. They will then show you the technique and tell you that if you do it like them, you can safely jump off a 10 foot building.

Do you really want to hear a kid jumping off a bench telling you to jump off a 10 foot building? I do not believe it.

Also, parkour movements are difficult to explain. So whatever site you visit, make sure it has videos. Parkour instructional videos are a must. It is much easier to learn from a video than from a text instruction. At least in parkour.

Parkour instructional videos

Having said all that, there are several parkour tutorial sites that offer instruction. The following are my favorites that I turn to when I need help learning new moves.

  1. Tapp Brothers
  2. Laflair Parkour

These two are by far my favorites due to the ease and quality of instruction. The Tapp Brothers are a bit more professional and serious, while Laflair Parkour is more comical. But still, they offer quality information.
